Required permissions for setup
To connect Slite and Jira, you must have the necessary permissions in both platforms.
In Slite: Permission to add or remove agent sources depends on your team's settings. By default, only Admins or Owners can set up a connection. However, a Slite admin can enable a setting to allow all members to add or remove agent sources.
In Jira: The user connecting the account must be an admin .

The initial data sync will begin.
It may take a few moments before you can see your Jira projects reflected in the Slite Agent, as well as Jira in the Agent Sources filter when asking a question.
Once the initial sync is complete, you can use Jira everywhere in the Slite Agent as an agent source.
Syncing Jira projects in Slite Agent
Once you've connected your Jira workspace to Slite Agent, you can start syncing your Jira projects. These can also be referred to as spaces in the Jira interface.
In the Sources tab, select the projects you want to sync, then click Sync sources .
How the Slite Agent indexes your Jira projects
What we sync
Slite Agent syncs issue descriptions and metadata from your Jira projects from the past year and will keep issues older than 12 months.
For instance, if you've started indexing issues two years ago, Slite Agent will still keep issues older than 1 year.
Comments are not synced by Slite Agent.
Refresh rate
New and updated Jira issues will appear in the Slite Agent automatically. As such, syncing manually is not possible.
Metadata
To make your search results more useful, the Slite Agent automatically pulls and indexes key information from your Jira issues. This includes:
Titles
Descriptions
Status
Due date
Priority
Assignee
Labels
Access control & privacy
Slite Agent maintains the same permissions as your Jira project.
Each Slite member will need to authenticate individually with their Atlassian account to access the data.
