By connecting Super with your Jira account, you can instantly search for all your issues directly in Super.This guide will walk you through the key aspects of the Super and Jira connection.

Connecting Jira & Super

This is the first step to get started. This section covers how to set up the connection between Super and Jira.

Required Permissions for Setup

To connect Super and Jira, you must have the necessary permissions in both platforms.
  • In Super: Permission to add or remove data sources depends on your team's settings. By default, only Admins or Owners can set up a connection. However, a Super Admin can enable a setting to allow all members to add or remove data sources.
  • In Jira: The user connecting the account must be an admin.

Initial Jira Connection

To begin, you need to connect your Jira account with Super.
    In Super, click Data Sources at the bottom of the left sidebar.
    Find the Jira option and click Install Jira application.
    Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your Atlassian account.
    You will be prompted to give the  Super.work  access to your Atlassian account. Choose a site, then click Accept.
    On the  Super.work  - Jira integration page that opens, click Get app in the top-right corner.
    Select the same site as before, and click Install.
    Once the installation is successful, you can close the window or click the Cancel button.
    The initial data sync will begin.It may take a few moments before you can see your Jira projects reflected in Super, as well as Jira in the Data Sources Filter when asking a question.
    Once the initial sync is complete, you can use Jira everywhere in Super as a Data Source.

Syncing Jira Projects in Super

Once you’ve connected your Jira workspace to Super, you can start syncing your Confluence projects. These can also be referred to as spaces in the Jira interface.
    In the Sources tab, select the projects you want to sync, then click Sync sources.

Removing Jira from Super

To disconnect Jira from Super
    Go to the Settings tab.
    Click Disconnect.
    Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the integration in Jira directly.
    In Jira, click Uninstall in the top-right.

How Super Indexes Your Jira Projects

What We Sync

Super syncs issue descriptions and metadata from your Jira projects from the past year and will keep issues older than 12 months.
For instance, if you've started indexing issues two years ago, Super will still keep issues older than 1 year.
Comments are not synced by Super.

Refresh Rate

New and updated Jira issues will appear in Super automatically. As such, syncing manually is not possible.

Metadata

To make your search results more useful, Super automatically pulls and indexes key information from your Jira issues. This includes:
  • Titles
  • Descriptions
  • Status
  • Due date
  • Priority
  • Assignee
  • Labels

Access Control & Privacy

Super maintains the same permissions as your Jira project.
Each Super member will need to authenticate individually with their Atlassian account to access the data.
