Jira

By connecting Super with your Jira account, you can instantly search for all your issues directly in Super. This guide will walk you through the key aspects of the Super and Jira connection.

Connecting Jira & Super

This is the first step to get started. This section covers how to set up the connection between Super and Jira.

Required Permissions for Setup

To connect Super with Jira, you must have the necessary permissions in both platforms.
  • In Super: Permission to add or remove data sources depends on your team's settings. By default, only Admins or Owners can set up a connection. However, a Super Admin can enable a setting to allow all members to add or remove data sources.
  • In Jira: The user connecting the accounts must be an admin in Jira.

Initial Jira Connection

To begin, you need to connect your Jira account with Super.
In Super, click Data Sources in the left sidebar.
Find the Jira option and click Connect Jira.
Super ( super.work ) will be requesting access to your Atlassian account. Choose a site on which to use Super, then click Accept.
In the next popup, click Get app to continue with the initial connection process.
Choose the site on which to use Super, then click Install.
If you don't see any sites in the drop-down menu above, it likely means that you are not an admin on any of your Jira instances. You will need to request admin access to continue with the connection process.
You should see a confirmation message that says "Success, this app was installed!".
Go back to Super and select the Jira projects you want to sync, then click Sync.
The initial data sync will begin. Super will sync issue descriptions and metadata from the past year. Once the initial sync is complete, you can use Jira everywhere in Super as a Data Source.

Removing a Jira project from Super

To disconnect a Jira project from Super, select it, then click Remove 1 Source.
  • You can use Shift-Click to select multiple Jira projects at once.
  • You can press the Escape key to deselect all selected Jira projects.
