Supported Tools

Learn what you can do with the Slite MCP tools.
Now that you have set up the  Slite MCP , let’s explore how AI assistants can use Slite MCP tools to search docs, retrieve contents, and create new docs, all while respecting your Slite permissions.
These tools work through prompts that support optional parameters, and they can combined together.
You can click the expand button to the left of each tool to learn what you can do with it.

ask-slite

Ask questions and get answers based on the docs you have access to in your Slite workspace.
Example prompt:
  • "What's Slite's time off policy?"
Optional parameter:
  • parentNoteId

create-note

This will create a new doc under "My private channel".
If you want to create a doc under a specific channel or doc instead, you will need to specify its id or title.
Example prompt:
  • "Create a new doc with the latest improvements in Slite from the last 2 weeks."

get-note

This will retrieve the full content of a specific doc. You will need to provide the id of the doc or its exact title, as well as the format (Markdown, which is the default, or html).
Example prompt:
  • "get contents of doc_id in html format"

get-note-children

This will list all the subdocs under a parent doc or channel. You will need to provide the id of the doc or its exact title.
Example prompt:
  • "retrieve docs under doc_id"

search-notes

This will search for specific docs based on keywords.
Example prompt:
  • "search for docs with the keyword 'OffSlite'"

Advanced: Combining Slite MCP with Super MCP

The Slite MCP becomes even more powerful when combined with the  Super MCP .
This lets you create structured documentation in Slite after researching information across all your connected  Data Sources  in Super.
Example prompt:
  • "Find all customer feedback and team discussions about our Knowledge Suite plan from Intercom, Slack, and Linear over the last 60 days.Then, create a Slite doc in my private channel titled 'Knowledge Suite Plan - Customer & Team Feedback Summary' that includes:2) Common feedback/questions and pain points3) Team concerns or blockers4) Recommendations for next steps"
