Contextual Buttons

To use Contextual Buttons, make sure you're using Google Chrome and have the  Super Chrome Extension  installed.

Contextual Buttons let you use Super directly inside Intercom, Zendesk, or any tool or dashboard your team already uses, like ProfitWell, Airtable, or even internal admin tools.
With the Super Chrome Extension installed, your team can trigger AI-powered actions like drafting replies, summarising accounts, or finding similar issues, all from within the tools they already use.

How they work

You first need to install the Super Chrome extension. You can use the default buttons that Super automatically adds to Intercom and Zendesk, or manually create your own custom buttons to show on any tool of your choice.
For custom buttons, you decide where the button appears, what Super reads on the page, and what action it performs. When clicked, Super reads the selected content on the page, combines it with your connected sources, and runs the action you’ve set.
For Intercom and Zendesk, it will, for example, read the conversation or ticket (including author emails, names, etc., and conversation notes). You’ll see a few default actions to get started, like drafting replies, summarizing accounts, finding experts, or surfacing similar issues.

Who sees the button

If a user has a Super account and the Chrome Extension installed, the Contextual Buttons created will appear automatically on the sites for you and your team.
If you don’t see the button, check that the extension is installed and you're using Google Chrome.
By default, Super automatically adds a button to the interface in Intercom and Zendesk.

Visibility and shared actions

All actions created for Contextual Buttons are shared across the workspace. Any teammate can create a new action, and it will appear in the button menu for everyone.
This makes it easy to build a shared set of high-impact, in-context actions that reflect how your team works.

Turning buttons off

To disable Contextual Buttons, open Contextual Buttons from the sidebar in Super.
Select Intercom or Zendesk, then turn off the default presets.
This will remove those actions from the button for your workspace.

Data Handling and Privacy

When you activate the button or Chrome extension, it reads the complete content of your conversation or ticket, including author emails, names, and conversation notes. We do not store any of your data. All information processed through our system is handled temporarily to execute your requested action and is not retained on our servers.

Custom Contextual Buttons

Custom Contextual Buttons let you add Super-powered buttons to any tool or dashboard your team already uses like ProfitWell, Airtable, or even internal admin tools.
You decide where the button appears, what Super reads on the page, and what action it performs. When clicked, Super reads the selected content on the page, combines it with your connected sources, and runs the action you’ve set like summarising an account, surfacing internal notes, or interpreting trends.
They’re easy to set up using a URL rule and a few CSS selectors or XPath, and they work instantly in Chrome with the Super Extension installed.

How to find a CSS selector or XPath

To set up a Custom Contextual Button, you’ll need to tell Super where to place the button and what content it should read on the page. This is done using a CSS selector or XPath.
Here’s how to find it:
Right-click on the element you want to target (e.g. a text block, card, or sidebar).
Choose “Inspect” to open Chrome DevTools.
In the Elements panel, the relevant HTML will be highlighted.
Right-click on that line in the HTML and select:
  • “Copy > Copy selector” for a CSS selector
  • Or “Copy > Copy XPath” if CSS doesn’t work
Paste the values into the relevant sections on the Custom Button Setup. You’ll need:
A placement selector – where the button should appea
A context selector – what Super should read from the page
