At Slite we offer 4 different options to add content to your knowledge base, making it a breeze to centralise important company information.
Importing content in bulk
If you already have a knowledge repository in place, you can migrate that content over to Slite in bulk. We recommend to first create a minimal channel structure in your account, so you can move the content over to the correct destination. Our guide How to Structure Your Slite Account contains more information and tips for setting up the different channels, but for the import, keep it simple!
How to Structure Your Slite Account
Once you have a few channels in place, you can navigate to "Import" in the lower left corner of Slite. There you can select the source you would like to import from, select your .zip file containing the multiple files, and move them into the channel you created.
Every file you import will be turned into a separate doc in Slite.

Importing on a doc level
Using import on the doc level only lets you import a single file.
From the channel overview on the left-hand side, you can create a new doc anywhere in your tree structure. Once you create a new doc, and while the doc is still empty, you can choose to import.

Using the import feature on a doc level, we will add the file you import as content for the doc you just created.
Creating a doc from scratch
When you create a new doc you can immediately use the editor to build your new doc from scratch. Check out the Editor section of our Help Center for tips and an overview of all the different possibilities. The article below also contains a practical guide for creating great docs.
With External Sources you can connect content from different tools to Slite. This content will not actually be moved to Slite, but will be used for Search and Ask only.
