Usage Analytics

Usage Analytics gives you insights into how your team is adopting and engaging with your knowledge base — helping you track what’s working and what could use attention.

How to Access Usage Analytics

To access Usage Analytics:
Click your team logo in the top-left.
    Click Settings.
Scroll down until you see Workspace > Usage Analytics in the sidebar.
This section is available to all team members.

How to Change the Time Period

By default the statistics for the previous month are shown, but you can adjust the time period in the upper right corner.
"Previous period" refers to the same timeline right before the current period. E.g. if you selected May 1 → May 31, then the previous period would be April 1 → April 30.

Adoption Rate

Adoption shows the percentage of members who viewed at least one doc per week during the selected period.
  • A rate of 50% may be great for static content like a handbook
  • Aim for 70% for dynamic or frequently used documentation
  • Use the Download button in the top right to export the data as a CSV
Hover over any dot to see the associated time period.

Doc Creation

Doc Creation shows how many docs were created over time.
  • Filter by channel to understand creation trends by team or topic
  • Steady creation with occasional peaks is a healthy sign
  • Use the Download button in the top right to export the data as a CSV
Hover over any dot to see the associated time period.

Search

Search shows how often searches lead to a doc view (click-through rate).
  • A rate below 70% could indicate missing or mislabeled content
  • Talk to your team about what they expect to find vs. what’s available
  • Use the Download button in the top right to export the data as a CSV
Hover over any dot to see the associated time period.

Team Activity

Team Activity shows your top contributors:
  • Top readers: Shows the number of times a member has viewed documents during the selected time period.
  • Top writers: Displays how often a member has contributed by editing documents.
Use this data to find and empower documentation champions in your team.

Ask

Ask shows how often your team uses  Ask  to ask and get answers from your knowledge base in natural language.
A main benefit of using Ask versus Search is that Ask can answer questions from your team in natural language, based on the documentation in your knowledge base. This allows your team to unblock themselves quickly, and proceed with their day-to-day.
