Backing Up Your Data

This article is about requesting backups for your entire workspace. Backups can be only be accessed by the owner of an account.

Request a team backup

If you go to "Settings > General" and scroll all the way to the bottom you'll find the back up options.

From there you can:
  • Request a manual backup of your team's content
  • Click 'Back up now' and pick the format you want (Markdown or HTML)
  • Set automatic backups
  • You can select to receive them on a weekly or monthly basis


What will you receive?

Please note that uploaded files over 100MB will not be included in the backups.
The owner of the Slite account will receive an email with a link to access the .zip file containing your data (the backup must be downloaded within 15 days).

The downloads of the backups are only accessible to owners of the Slite account, and sometimes we see an issue with the browser not recognizing or being able to verify the person downloading as such. In this case you can log into Slite and then try the download link for the backup again from the same browser, which should resolve things.


How often is my data updated?

We backup data every 24 hours.
