AskX v0.9

We don't actually have version numbers yet.
But this is how it feels: we spent the last month ironing out all parts of the experience for new and existing users to get to their "Eureka!" moment without frictions.

AskX now runs on Claude Sonnet 3.5

On a EU-hosted version of Anthropic's latest model to be more precise.
It radically improves the quality of our various assistants.

Sources improvements

  • We added Confluence as a new source!
  • .pdf and .pptx are indexed from Sharepoint sources.
  • The number of indexed pages is now live reloaded in the source manager.

Better spaces

We redesigned the way to build Spaces (pre-set filters) and added a way to specify the prompt to be used in them.

A sneak peek at modes Shushing Face

Getting to an answer can take many shapes. We started optimising for "knowledge" type of questions, but are building for more, with modes. You can try 2 of them already:
  • A simple demo mode to ask questions on our AskX guide
  • If you use Linear, try asking for analysis of your usage, or listing tickets, it's able to do these research mixing structured data ("show me completed issues") and unstructured information ("related to improving import")

You can now filter simply by typing @

Source manager improvements for GDrive and Notion

 - You can now explore with more ease the content of your Google Drive (with proper management of Shared drives and Shared with me tabs), we replaced Google official picker Face with Rolling Eyes
And you can explore the pages indexed in your Notion data source.

Clearer sources restrictions and new file support

 - We added back a tab to upload your own files in the source manager, now with support for pdf, pptx(including Google Slides), docx, .html and .txt.

For each data source we now indicates clearly what restrictions apply, what formats are supported (if relevant), and how we handle access rights.

New AskX help center

 - You can now see official documentation to AskX on our dedicated mini help center:

New website

We just released a new website, preparing AskX's official private beta!

Sharepoint and OneDrive

Quality of life and new Sources panel Person Golfing

We are working hard on improving our 3rd party data syncing to enhance indexing and unlock many more sources. But in the meantime, we shipped a lot of quality of life improvements!

  • Rework core UI (placement of each block, better buttons, loaders, placeholders, etc).
  • You can now write your questions over multiple lines
  • A whole new experience to add and manage your sources
  • Lot of improvements on Filters (filter only by Slite data, fix excluded sources, date filter resetting others, etc.)

New layout and experience

 - The new version of AskX brings a new experience, with the answer and sources on each side, and a cleaner display of filter and precision suggestions.
Other improvements have been made on the format of the answers and

FYI - While we keep iterating on the front side, our biggest work item coming next will be under the hood.
We are working hard to enable more sources with new types (SQL data, CRM etc).
Keep sending us your feedback and needs on this front Raising Hands

Better answers, better fail management

 - Here is a demo of how you can customise the prompt for AskX and how AskX help you improve your knowledge when it fails. More details below Backhand Index Pointing Down

Pre-prompt for answer styling
You can now select the way your answer should be written (concise, detailed, or custom). Share your best custom prompts with us!

Fix and complete your knowledge with the new Ask Insights
Ask is a terrific tool to detect what knowledge is incorrect or missing. In the new insights panel, you can now see reported or missing answers, and act on them!
  • Retry a failed Ask query
  • Dismiss if it has been fixed
  • Answer in the other case, which will fix the case for the future.

Suggestions on sources and date refinement
Very exploratory - You will now be suggested channels and date range to filter by that could add more precise context and yield better answers.

Enhanced Sources, Media, Databases

 - Following the new AskX interface and focus on assisting you filtering through the noise, we released 3 new blocks.

The "Media" block showing images from sources.
The Database block for data questions, typically on tables in your docs or on your project management tool.
Our enhanced source block explaining why sources have been picked to answer.

New AskX experience Sparkles

 - We pushed our biggest change since starting AskX.

Company data are full of contradictions and outdated information. But hey, that's also what makes it so rich! We embrace this challenge and have drifted away from a pure chat interface to make AskX an iterative search experience enhanced by AI.

AskX now prompts you to:
  • Refine your question
  • Provide much more context on the results it finds
  • Reformulate your question as you iterate

Precision questions
Source explanation
Visual issues fixed (dark mode, tag buttons overflowing)

Chat - Showing the steps taken by Ask to answer you
