Integration for Slack

Combine Slite with Slack for a practical and powerful integration that keeps your team in sync.
Search your Slite workspace from Slack and ask questions using Slite's AI assistant.

How the Slack integration works

Connecting Slite to Slack will allow you to:
  •  Ask  your knowledge base questions using Slite's AI assistant by either mentioning the @Slite bot in your message or enabling the assistant to automatically recognize questions and propose answers.
  • Share Slite Docs that display rich unfurls (previews) or share them as a PDF.
  • Set up your personal Slite notifications.
  • Sync Slite Channel updates to Slack Channels, receiving notifications when a doc is created or updated.
Slack content can be added as a Data Source in  Super , so your team can surface it in context.

How to set up the Slack integration

1) Set up the workspace integration

You must be an admin in both Slite and Slack to set up the integration.
Go to the Integrations section in your Slite settings, click Add Integrations , then click Install next to Slack.

2) Link or unlink your Slite and Slack accounts

As part of the setup, individual users will have their Slite and Slack accounts automatically linked if both email addresses match.
You can personally disconnect your Slite and Slack accounts:
Click your workspace logo in the top-left corner.
Select Settings from the menu, then stay in the My settings section.
In the Notifications sub-section, click Disconnect Slack account .
If at any point when using the integration on Slack or Slite there is an email mismatch you will be prompted to manually link your accounts.

3) Set up the @Slite bot to answer questions in public Slack channels

You will first need to have completed the  workspace integration , then this particular connection can be setup by individual users and does not involve an admin or owner.

To set up the Slite bot, type @Slite in a public Slack channel to invite it.
Mention @slite in your message, which will send your message along with the entire thread to Slite.
The bot will infer your question, and send its reply along with links to the sources.
How to avoid sharing sensitive information?
The bot will answer based on the Slite docs you have access to, which other members of your team may not have access to. If you deem the answer to be sensitive, you can click the Delete button in the Slack reply and it won't be shared.

Sharing docs to Slack

Sharing docs to Slack is available for individuals and does not require the integration for Slack.
To share a doc to Slack:

Click the Slack icon and follow the on-screen instructions.

Getting notifications on Slack

Slack notifications are available for individuals.
Once the integration setup has been configured, any user can set up these notifications.
Click your workspace logo in the top-left corner.
Select Settings from the menu, then stay in the My settings section.

This requires the integration setup to be completed.
