Ask Insights

Ask Insights gives you insights into the questions that your team has asked, but either could not have been answered, or were reported as not answered correctly.

Ask Insights offers unique insights into the gap between what is documented in your knowledge base or sources, and the knowledge that your team is actually looking for.

Depending on your security settings either every member or the admins of your Slite workspace can go to "Settings > Ask Insights" and see two tabs with insights; reported questions and unanswered questions. By default it shows the results for your internal docs, but you can also change the filter to show the insights for your public docs. Extremely helpful for when you are (like us!) hosting your public Help Center in Slite.

Reported questions

The first tab shows the reported questions. These are questions that were answered by Ask, but where the user flagged it with a thumbs down. Users have an option to leave a reason or feedback when they do so, and if you click on the reported question you'll be able to see this feedback.

Once you open the reported question, there are a few actions you can take.

  • Retry: You can retry the question and see if Ask is now able to answer the question correctly, as documentation or sources might have since been updated.
  • Dismiss: You can dismiss the reported question in case the answer Ask gave is in fact correct.

Missing answers

To capture missing answers an admin has to enable the "Register questions" setting via the General settings of your Slite account.
The second tab in Ask Insights shows the missing answers. These are questions raised by your team that Ask was not able to answer because there is no supporting documentation. This section can help you to understand which content is missing, and take action on adding that information.

The missing answers you can open as well, and again choose to Retry, Dismiss, or Answer.

If there have been multiple similar missing answers, you can select them all, and dismiss them in bulk.
