Ask Insights

Ask Insights helps you identify where your knowledge base falls short by showing questions that  Ask  couldn’t answer and answers that people flagged as incorrect

Enable missing answer tracking

To automatically log unanswered questions, a workspace owner or admin can go to Ask Settings under the general workspace settings:

Access Ask Insights

Access Ask Insights from the bottom of the left sidebar. You’ll see three tabs:
  • Reported
  • Solved
  • Missing Answers
By default it shows the results for your internal docs, but you can also change the filter to show the insights for your public docs.

Use Ask Insights

Reported Questions

These are questions where  Ask  provided an answer, but the user clicked the Thumbs Down icon next to the sources list to report it for the team to fix the documentation.
Users can optionally leave feedback which can then be viewed when clicking on a reported question.
When you click a reported question in Ask Insights, there are a few actions you can take.
  • Assign a teammate if you haven't already
  • Ask again: Retry the question and see if Ask is now able to answer the question correctly, as documentation or sources might have since been updated.
  • Discard question: Dismiss the reported question in case the answer Ask gave is in fact correct.
  • Provide new answer: Create a new doc to answer the question.

Solved Questions

In this tab you can retrieve all queries that have been solved by providing an answer in a new doc.

Missing Answers

To automatically capture missing answers, a workspace owner or admin has to enable the "Automatically log unanswered questions" option in the Ask Settings section  as described at the top.
These are questions Ask couldn’t answer because no matching content currently exists.
You can use this tab to identify content gaps and fill them proactively.
When you click a missing answer in Ask Insights, you will see the same actions as in the Reported tab.
  • Assign a teammate if you haven't already
  • Ask again: You can retry the question and see if Ask is now able to answer the question correctly, as documentation or sources might have since been updated.
  • Discard question: You can dismiss the reported question in case the answer Ask gave is in fact correct.
  • Provide new answer: You can create a new doc to answer the question.
If there have been multiple similar missing answers, you can select them all, and discard them in bulk.
