Ask Insights

Ask Insights helps you identify where your knowledge base falls short by showing questions that  Ask  couldn’t answer and answers that people flagged as incorrect

Manage Access to Ask Insights

Who can access Ask Insights?

In the Security settings, workspace owners and admins can choose whether only admins or all members can view Ask Insights.

You can also edit this permission on the Ask Insights page directly, via the drop-down menu in the top right corner.
Users without access to reported and missing answers can only see questions assigned to them.

Enable missing answer tracking

To automatically log unanswered questions, a workspace owner or admin can go to Ask Settings under the general workspace settings, and toggle on Automatically log unanswered questions:

Access Ask Insights

Access Ask Insights from the bottom of the left sidebar. You’ll see three tabs:
  • Reported
  • Missing answer
  • Solved
By default it shows the results for your internal docs, but you can also change the filter to show the insights for your public docs. To do that, click the From public docs tab.

Use Ask Insights

Reported Questions

These are questions where  Ask  provided an answer, but the user clicked the Thumbs Down icon next to the sources list to report it for the team to fix the documentation.
Users can optionally leave feedback which can then be viewed when clicking on a reported question.
When you click a reported question in Ask Insights, there are a few actions you can take.
  • Assign a teammate if you haven't already.
  • Generate new answer: Returns a new answer based on the current documentation. This will list the source docs used, which you can then click to edit if necessary to review the documentation again until the generated answer is correct.
  • Mark as solved: Removes the question from the Reported tab if the documentation has been updated and the answer is now correct.
  • Discard: Dismiss the reported question in case the answer Ask gave is in fact correct.

Solved Questions

In this tab you can retrieve all queries that have been solved by providing an answer in a new doc.

Missing Answers

To automatically capture missing answers, a workspace owner or admin has to enable the "Automatically log unanswered questions" option in the Ask Settings section  as described at the top.
These are questions Ask couldn’t answer because no matching content currently exists.
You can use this tab to identify content gaps and fill them proactively.
When you click a missing answer in Ask Insights, you will see the same actions as in the Reported tab.
  • Assign a teammate if you haven't already
  • Generate new answer: Returns a new answer based on the current documentation. This will list the source docs used, which you can then click to edit if necessary to review the documentation again until the generated answer is correct.
  • Mark as solved: Removes the question from the Missing answer tab if the documentation has been updated and the answer is now correct.
  • Discard: You can dismiss the missing answer in case the answer Ask gave is in fact correct.
If there have been multiple similar missing answers, you can select them all, and discard them in bulk.
Shift-Click and Command-Click to select multiple questions works as you'd expect.
