Custom MCP

Custom MCP

You can connect any MCP server as an agent source.

Connect an MCP server

  • Add a custom MCP source in Agent sources, then enter a name and the server URL.
  • Authenticate with OAuth (optionally your own OAuth client ID and secret) or with static headers such as an API key.

Share with members

  • MCP connections can be shared to other teammates in the Slite workspace
  • Alternatively, admins can promote it so each teammate create their own MCP connection with their own account. See  Let members connect their own accounts to MCP sources .

An example: connecting Shortcut MCP

In Slite, we open Agent sources and choose to add a custom MCP server.
Under Name to identify your MCP server , enter Shortcut .
Under URL of your MCP server , enter https://mcp.shortcut.com/mcp .
Leave Use my own OAuth client closed and its fields empty. Shortcut doesn't need one.
    Save, then click Connect .
Shortcut opens an approval page in your browser. Sign in if asked, then approve access.
Back in Slite, the connection shows as connected, along with the list of Shortcut tools Agent can use.
