Collection & Table Improvements

We've made some significant additions and improvements to our Collection & Table features.

Test our newest features in Slite Labs

Join us in testing early-stage features to shape the future of our product, together.

Introducing Slite Labs, your exclusive playground to explore the early concepts and innovations we're brewing at Slite. Dive into a preview of unreleased experiments and features, and have your say by providing direct feedback to the talented teams behind them.

As of today, you have the power to toggle a variety of experiments on and off right from within the product. Navigate to your workspace settings > then click Slite Labs.

Some of these ideas may evolve into fully-fledged features or products, while others may take a different path. Your input will help us decide. Since we plan to test and play around with different ideas, check back often to see what’s new.

We hope you have fun experimenting with these features, just like we do!

Don't forget to  join our Slack Community  to give feedback directly to the teams who built the features.

Channel display settings

Our new Channel display settings allow you to identify docs that have become inactive aka 'cold' and show archived docs in their original place.

We use heat-mapping technology to gauge activity across your workspace and apply a heat level not only to individual documents but also to entire sections of your tree structure, also known as parent doc with many sub-docs. It pinpoints what your team engages with and what they don't. Docs that are active aka 'hot' are those recently edited, referenced in other documents, have sub-documents, and receive comments. The more inactive aka 'colder' a doc is, the fewer of these activities it has seen.

This new feature lets you highlight inactive docs directly from the sidebar, instantly revealing where your team is active and where they aren't.

But that's not all – these settings allow you to see previously archived docs in their original positions anytime, removing any concerns around archiving valuable information.

This combination of settings empowers you to identify the most-used docs by your team and confidently archive, knowing you can always access them exactly where they belong.

Slite is now available in French

Language and region settings are now available in Slite. Slite is for everyone, no matter where you are in the world. We want our tool to be easy and accessible for everyone.

Currently, Slite supports English and French, marking the introduction of our first additional language! We are diligently working on incorporating more languages, so stay tuned for updates.

In addition to utilizing Slite in various languages, we have introduced a new setting that allows you to customize the calendar to start on your preferred day of the week.

To make these adjustments, simply go to Settings, then navigate to Localization.

Search docs and Ask questions on your knowledge base as you browse the web. This  extension  adds a button to your browser toolbar. Click the purple hand icon whenever you want to search or find answers.

Just like in the app, you'll be able to see and click the sources for all of your answers, right from the extension.

The extension also displayed the latest edited and visited docs, so you can easily pick up where you left off - wherever you are. When you click on a doc it will open it in a new tab.

We've also improved the insights that show which docs require your attention by streamlining them into quick doc filters, making them instantly recognizable and therefore super fast to act on. n.b. Ask is controlled at the workspace level, ask your admins to turn it on if not available already.

Meet Doc status

Ask is not (yet?) capable of reasoning, and if you feed it with outdated or incorrect information, it will very confidently give you wrong answers.

That's why we built Doc status, a way to mark your doc as  verified  or  outdated . Not only does it warn your teammates of irrelevant information, but it make sure Ask won't use them.

Simpler, more advanced tables

We finally completed our effort merging what we called "Simple" and "Smart" tables.

You can now just insert a table, add or remove the header to make it structured, have special column like tags, sort and so on.

Organizing your work using cards lets you see your team's work in a whole new way. Sort, filter and customize how much (or little) info to show on each card and save multiple views to surface the right docs at the right time.

Backlinks in Questions & Answers
