Cover Images

Customize your docs with cover images.
Cover images are displayed at the top of your docs, as well as in  ⁠⁠Doc Cards⁠ 's previews.

How to add a cover image

    Hover over the top of your doc and click "Edit layout", then choose "Add cover image."
    Choose the layout of your cover image  (badge vs. banner.)⁠ 
    Choose an image.
You can pick an image from our own gallery, upload a file (up to 10 MB), or use the Unsplash service that offers license-free images.

Badge vs. Banner

A banner cover image is a large, wide image. It is designed to span across the top of the document header, providing a broad visual introduction.
A badge cover image is smaller and more compact. Badges are useful for simpler, less dominant cover visuals that still add style and context to the doc header.

Cropping and dimensions

The ideal size for a banner cover image is 2112 x 640 px, to optimize for the largest size it can take. The minimum size for a badge cover image is 480 x 240 px.
The source image will be placed in the center and then zoomed until it covers both dimensions.

Removing and editing your cover

Once it's set, click on your cover to edit or remove it. Alternatively, choose "Edit layout" > "Edit cover image."
