Hints (Callouts)

Make important information stand out.
You can use /hint blocks to drive your reader's attention to specific information.
Hints have five styling options:
  • a blue info
  • an orange exclamation mark
  • a red warning
  • a green checkmark
  • a custom one to let you express something more specific

Creating a hint block

You have several options to create a hint block.
  • You can use the keyboard shortcut Command-Shift-Option-H
  • You can use the Markdown syntax !!
  • You can type /hint directly
  • You can select some text and choose Hint from the Commands bar

Formatting content inside hint blocks

Hint blocks support rich text formatting, allowing you to create more structured and detailed callouts.
You can use:
  • Bold, italic, underline, etc
  • Bullet points and numbered lists
  • Images
  • Tables
  • Everything you can find with the / command! (See also:  The Toolbars and / Commands )
This makes hints perfect for longer explanations or step-by-step instructions that need to stand out.

Changing style

Click the icon in the top left of the block to open a menu and pick an option:
By clicking the first icon that looks like a smiling face, you'll be able to browse through all emojis.
Note: Currently, you cannot change the background color when using custom emojis. If you need different colored backgrounds, use one of the five default hint styles.
