Learn how to share docs and channels with your team members in Slite — whether you’re collaborating privately, working in a shared channel, or just sending someone a link.
How Permissions Work in Slite
In Slite, permissions ‘cascade’ — when you give someone access to a channel, they automatically get access to all docs inside it. You can override this by adjusting permissions on individual docs via their Share menu in the top right of Slite.
Giving Writer permissions on a doc via its Share menu.
When you share a doc with someone, they will be notified in the Nice to see section.

Collaborate on Private Docs
Docs shared from your private channel appear in the recipient’s Shared with me section — outside of any channel. This is useful when the doc isn’t meant to be public to the whole team.
The "Shared with me" section.
If you no longer need access to a doc, you can click the Leave button next to its title.
Send Out a Doc Link
You can copy a doc link and share it with your team members. To do that, open the Share modal and click Copy link.
Alternatively, you can also press Command-L on Mac or Ctrl + L on Windows.

Nudge Your Team Members
If a doc has already been shared with someone, instead of sending them the link, you can nudge them on the doc to get their attention.
Click the bell icon next to their name and you'll be prompted to add an optional message if you'd like. Click Confirm nudge to send out a notification.
This notification will appear in the “Where you're needed” section of the Notifications modal and it will also be sent by email.

If you have set up the Integration for Slack, you can click the Slack icon in the bottom left corner of the Share modal to send a doc to a specific Slack channel or as a direct message.
In the Share to Slack modal, you can select a channel or person, add a message, and choose to attach the doc if you'd like.
Click Share in the bottom right to send the message and share your doc.
